California - part 4 - Oakland zoo

We spent two more days in California. They were much more low key.

On Tuesday Hudson went down for an early nap and took a log, much needed nap. Spencer stayed at Jill's house wit him and took a nap too. Roman and I went to the zoo with my friend Heather and her kids.

Because I didn't bring the diaper bag, I forgot my camera. And I had Spencer's phone instead of mine because of the navigation on his phone to get to the zoo. I must not know how to use his phone because only a few of the pictures saved. :(

We only stayed at the zoo for a couple of hours because it was HOT! Near 100 degrees which is hot, hot, hot for Oakland. We even got icee's but it just wasn't enough to really cool us down. We spent most of our time in the play areas. The kids had fun playing on the lily pads. Roman slipped and his foot went into the water once. He got really upset and told me that he wanted me to make his foot "un-wet."

After the zoo we went back to Jills house and Spencer had filled a little wading pool with water. The boys (meaning Spencer, Roman and Hudson) had fun splashing in the pool cooling down.

Once everyone else was gone Snowflake decided to come back out to play. Snowflake was Spencer's Grandma's cat. After his grandma passed away Jill brought her to her house (on the same property, just across the driveway pretty much). When Jill remarried she tried taking Snowflake to live at Mike's hosue but she needed the open space to wander, explore, and most of all hide. Snowflake wasn't sure what to think of Hudson at first. And Hudson was equally curious. After sniffing each other Snowflake decided he was okay and even let him touch her.

That evening at Steve and Angie's house visiting with them then went back again on Wednesday to spend our last day with them before we got on the road again to head to Oregon.
