The other day Roman asked if he could play with a friend.  So, I sent his friends mom a text to ask if his friend could play. Roman was watching over my shoulder as I typed.  I typed the text as follows.

"hey, roman is wondering if oliver can play today?"

I was getting ready to send and Roman said.  "Question mark?  That's a statement, ends with a period.  You need to capitalize roman and oliver, they are names.  And hey because it's the first word in the sentence.

He finally gave me the go ahead to send the text once I had corrected my grammatical errors.

Even superman...

Cleans toilets.

Today Roman did not have school because the teachers had teacher development meetings.  Because we knew they had the time off school, last week we set up a play date with Roman friend, Michael for today.  Unfortunately this morning Roman forgot his manners and lost the privilege to play with his friend.  He begged to be able to earn it back.  I told him that to earn it back he had to do 3 chores, of my choice.  I told him to clean all the toilets, take care of everyone's laundry, and empty all the garbage cans.  He thought it was a superman sized task, so he put on his spandex and went to work.  I'm happy to report he earned the play date back (and I got clean toilets, garbage taken out, and laundry taken care of!).  The best part, he did it with a happy attitude and was able to play with his friend!

Hudson is in the other room talking to himself.

If you tell your mom you're wearing underwear to bed, and you're not; That's lying to Jesus.  So you have to put on underwear, and pants, and shirt.  You can't try to hurry, because that's lying to Jesus, and Jesus knows even more than Santa, he always knows if you are lying.

5 minutes later he walked into my room, and we had the following conversation.

Me - Hudson, what's on your cheek?
Hudson - It's a booger.  I hided it there so you wouldn't see it, but you did.
Me - Well, go get a tissue and clean it off.
Hudson - I'll just go hide it somewhere else.
Me - How about in the garbage?
Hudson - But you know that's where I'm hiding it.

Hudson is eating dinosaur chicken nuggets:

"This is a pterodactyl. It flied before we lived here. Then it fell into the dinosaur museum, and he died. And this is a brontosaurus. He eats leaves. and he lives in the forest, but he ran out of leaves, and he died."

He went on and on for probably 10 minutes about how the dinosaurs died.  After typing this I decided to get a little video of him explaining all about how the dinosaurs died.

Hudson - look around the room and whoever is smiling really hard... That's who wanted them.

Last night after we had put the boys to bed Roman was singing the star spangled banner at the top of his lungs. I went in and told him that he needed to be quiet.

Roman - I can't help it. I LOVE the United States and the history.
Me - Then think about the history while you go to sleep.
Roman - I hope I don't have another nightmare. One night I had a nightmares that we lost the revolutionary war and we were still under England's reign. That was probably one of the worst... nightmares I've ever had.
Me - Maybe don't think about the wars then.
Roman - Our history is filled with wars. How do you expect me to think about the history of the United states and not think about any wars?

A little Harry Potter in the morning

I love that this boy loves to read, has a huge imagination and wants to be a part of the book. This morning he's reading Harry potter, with his wand. He practices the spells along with them.

Hudson - what's that word that says ruff that means they wouldn't to do it?
Me - um, I don't know.
Hudson - maybe it's ruflated. Kate said she wanted to play fire and rescue with me then ruflated.
Me - you mean refused?
Hudson - oh yeah, that's the ruff word! Why does Kate refuse everything?...
Me - um, because she's 2.
Hudson - oh yeah, 2 year olds do that sometimes.

January 5, 2015

January 5, 2008 we were sealed to Roman in the salt lake temple! Every year on this day we remember how thankful and blessed we to have him in our family. There is never a dull moment with him in our lives and we would wouldn't have it any other way!  To remember and talk about our special day we go to the temple grounds every year. The boys look forward to it every year (mostly because they like to run up and down the stairs.)

Ice Skating!

Today we took the boys ice skating. They loved it!  We have a county rec center pass and found that as of January 1 ice skating was included.  We had so many plans before Christmas break, but didn't get to do nearly as many things as we wanted to, so we crammed one last fun thing in before the boys went back to school.
