Oregon - Part 2 - Sealing and Rose Gardens

Saturday June 25 was an AMAZING day! We got up and ready and headed to the temple early so that we made sure we were there with plenty of time and so that we could wander around the grounds with the boys before we went in.

Katie had arranged for her friend to come to the temple and watch our boys while we were in the sealing. We waited until just before the sealing was supposed to start to go in. Hudson is going through a major attachment stage right now. He will only go to me or Spencer. I knew it was going to be hard for whoever watched him. He won't even go to my sisters or parents...he especially won't go to my sisters because he is always afraid they are going to take him again. (On a total tangent, Marla says I am enabling him, making him more attached, I think she's traumatizing him, making him think she's going to take him all the time.)

We went inside and we were a little worried that we were going to be late. Spencer realized at the temple in Sacramento that he had somehow lost his temple recommend, that we had replaced right before the trip so that we were good for the trip. In Sacramento they were somehow able to look it up in their system so Spencer assumed all temple could do that. In Portland they had to call the bishop and they couldn't get a hold of him, so they had to call the stake president. They almost weren't able to get him either. Luckily they got in touch with the stake president and we hurried up to the chapel. We waited for quite a while, wondered what was going on. Finally the worker said "Sorry about the wait, we temporarily misplaced the bride and groom." Spencer thinks that she was just making a joke, I think she was serious!

We finally made it up to the sealing room and it was so perfect. They received such great advice, things that I've never heard before. That's one thing I love about going to other sealings, every time we hear something different and it's always something that really makes me think. When Betsy was finally brought in everyone awed at her. She was adorable. So sweet, happy, cute. The sealer said sometimes babies "Sing" (aka cry) he doesn't mind. Betsy did "Sing." I thought it was sweet, especially after he called it singing. It made me think about our sealing day so much.

After the sealing we went to lunch at The Oswego Grill. It was so good. Like I said, we had lots of good food while we were there. I had a prime rib sandwich with au jus. It was SO good. After spending all the time at the temple Roman and Hudson had a hard time sitting still for lunch. They both wanted to be held, Hudson was tired, Roman was tired, Roman spilled apple juice all over my lap (with Hudson sitting on it.) Hudson had a near blowout diaper. All sorts of excitement at lunch that's for sure!

After lunch we went back to the hotel so that the boys could get naps and so that we could change, Roman really wanted to go swimming at the hotel again. After napping watching movies, just relaxing for a big after all the craziness. We did go down and swim. Roman wanted to have goggles to swim with. We don't have any for him, so he asked Spencer if he could wear his. He had fun with them, even though they didn't really help him any (especially upside down.)

After the pool we met Katie, Scott and Betsy at the International Rose Gardens. They were beautiful. My allergies were awful while we were there but I was told that as soon as we got out of the car that the rose smell was AMAZING. There were so many different colors, sizes, varieties. Roman wanted to smell them all. After wandering through the rose gardens for a while we went down to the playground. It was HUGE. I was a little nervous because I couldn't see him a lot of the time. Spencer actually started following him through for a while just so we knew where he was. Hudson even got down and was playing too.

That night we went out for dinner with Katie and Scott to Scott's favorite dinner place, Jamba Juice. It was just enough after a big lunch to fill us up for that night.
