Wet and Wild

On Hudson's birthday Radio Disney had a water party at the Gallivan Plaza downtown. Becky invited us to go with them to it. We met Becky and her girls at the Gateway and rode Trax over. When we got there the fire department had just turned on their hose.

Roman did NOT want to get into the water, he was nervous about it. Kaylee was willing to go check it out if her mom went with her, but wasn't sure she wanted to get wet, and Gabby was dancing in the water. While watching the fire truck we ran into our neighbors the Iverson's. It was their first time going to the water party too and wanted to see what it was all about. We decided to wander around and check everything out before we did anything else (BAD IDEA!) It was so crowded by the time we decided what to do there were long lines everywhere. The shortest line was for the train ride (because it wasn't free...of course) so we started there.
While we were wandering around there were a few areas they were blowing mist so the kids played in that, and there were several bubble machines that the kids had fun playing in the bubbles. There was a man handing out water guns so the kids got water guns and had fun shooting each other (that is until they ran out of water. Then the girls lost interest. Roman is a little too interested in guns so he didn't care that it was out of water he thought it was awesome.)

We tried going to get their faces painted but the line for that was so long they had closed it so we went over to the line for balloon animals but it was moving so slow that we asked the kids if they wanted to go over to the Gateway to get some lunch then to play in the fountains.

Roman is always VERY hesitant about playing in the fountains and as usual would only go in if he was holding someone's hand. Kaylee and Gabby were great about holding his hand and helping him run through.

Looks like a fun day. They had that same train at the Sandy Library on Wednesday--they had found it on KSL and rented it for $150/hr to give the kids free rides. We just happened to show up on the right day! You're so good to take your kids to the fountains and splash parks this week. I kept meaning to but I ended up having a crazy week. However, my friend that lives in Highland said that last year they kept the splash park on in September on days that were over 75 degrees. So we might still be able to head out there...
